Theri ( transl. Spark) is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the banner V Creations. Inspired from Mani Ratnam’s film Chatriyan, the film stars Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson, Nainika, Radhika Sarathkumar, Rajendran and Mahendran.
The film managed to amass a remarkable Rs 150 crore, marking a historic milestone for Vijay. Theri was the first film in Vijay’s career to enter the Rs 150 crore club. It was also the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of the year.
